Scientists find a second code besides genetics in DNA

The primary genetic code specifies the proteins that a cell makes. This second code specifies the placement of the nucleosomes, miniature protein spools around which the DNA is looped and which control access to the DNA itself.

I am sure we are far from learning everything there is to know about the structure and sequence in our DNA. One things for sure though, this is an astounding breakthrough! It can be a very scary thing also because if we learn too much about ourselves it gives certain people access to possible new methods in which to control. You know what they say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutley.

California roasts in record-breaking heat

SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- Californians braced for more sweltering heat Sunday, a day after triple-digit temperatures smashed records across the state, strained air conditioners and prompted scattered power outages.

Records were set or tied Saturday at all five of the National Weather Service's recording locations in the Central Valley: 109 degrees in Sacramento, 111 in Redding, and 112 in Red Bluff, Stockton and Modesto.

Can we sign the Kyoto protocal yet? Please!?!? (not like it would make much difference now)

Opus Dei financier is found dismembered under bridge

Saint Josemaría Escrivá, Founder of Opus Dei - above picture.

The badly beaten and mutilated corpse of Gianmario Roveraro, one of Italy's reputedly most pious financiers, was discovered "cut to pieces" under a motorway overpass near Parma yesterday, some two weeks after he was kidnapped while returning home from a meeting of the conservative Roman Catholic group Opus Dei

The killing recalled the murder of Roberto Calvi, the Italian financier known as "God's Banker" for his links to the Vatican, who was found hanged fromBlackfriars Bridge in London in 1982

Opus Dei: (wikipedia) whose professed mission is to contribute to spreading the Catholic teaching that everyone is called to become a saint and that ordinary life is a path to sanctity.

Well if I didn't know better I would say it's more like a mafia crime family. Did I say that out loud.......I guess I better not go fishing anytime soon!

Earth faces 'catastrophic loss of species'

The planet is losing species faster than at any time since 65 million years ago, when the earth was hit by an enormous asteroid that wiped out thousands of animals and plants, including the dinosaurs. Scientists estimate that the current rate at which species are becoming extinct is between 100 and 1,000 times greater than the normal "background" extinction rate - and say this is all due to human activity.

Breathing Moonrocks

05.05.2006

The Moon has plentiful oxygen for future astronauts. It's lying on the ground.

OK, just so I understand this correctly, NASA can now extract oxygen out of moon dirt for astronauts to breath but we still can not produce energy without destroying our own planet....... Oh that's right there are no lobbying firms on the moon........YET!
Israel prepares to invade Syria

As to be expected, the story about a Hezbollah drone hitting an Israeli warship was tweaked this morning to fit the emerging agenda. “Senior Israeli army officers said Saturday that the rocket which hit an Israeli missile boat off the Lebanese coast Friday night was an Iranian-built radar-guided C-802,” reports the Bangkok Post.

In Iraq, Civil War All but Declared

BAGHDAD — Retaliatory massacres by gunmen and bombers linked to rival Muslim sects have left more than 130 people dead across Iraq over the last two days, the latest casualties of what some politicians now are calling an undeclared civil war.

With all the conflicts going on in the Middle East it is quite easy to loose track of a failed war. Since May over 6,000 reported deaths have occured in Iraq. Which doesn't say much for the Iraqi puppet government, or the US and it's failed foriegn policy and "democracy building". When is enough enough?
In break with Bush, Iraqi PM denounces Israeli attacks on Lebanon

"The Israeli attacks and airstrikes are completely destroying Lebanon's infrastructure," Mr. Maliki said at an afternoon news conference inside the fortified Green Zone, which houses the American embassy and the seat of the Iraqi government. "I condemn these aggressions and call on the Arab League foreign ministers' meeting in Cairo to take quick action to stop these aggressions. We call on the world to take quick stands to stop the Israeli aggression."

It's pretty sad when a 'puppet government' that we created doesn't even support our (Israelica's) point of view.
GRAPHIC: Images of suffering, death on Arab TV after series of Israeli, Hezbollah strikes

During the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina, the media did show some images of the death and suffering created by government inaction, giving viewers an appreciation of the dire conditions. In contrast, viewers have no such understanding of the depth of suffering in the current Mideast crisis.

I have no words.........I.........ehm.

Death by Video: Mexico’s Election Fraud Is Coming Undone

Study this photograph from today’s La Jornada. A campaign truck covered with PAN party logos, slogans, and the faces of three of their candidates – the one in the middle is Calderón – is parked in front of a building. From the balcony of the colonial-style structure shines an illuminated sign with three large letters: I… F… E. Citizens have arrived by foot and by bicycle and have blocked the entrances to the IFE building and the PAN truck. Not all of them appear in the photo, but there are 500 of them and they are hopping mad. Trapped inside are at least ten IFE officials who, according to eyewitnesses, illegally entered the building, brought sealed ballot boxes out into the patio, and began to open them, breaking the official seals. They were seen revising anew the “actas” with the vote tallies and recounting the ballots, without, as the law requires, the presence of representatives from all the political parties. The neighbors sounded the alarm and the electoral delinquents have been caught in the act.

The FACADE crumble......and it's about time! It's funny though, to think that most Americans see Mexicans as inferior but seeing how they have more resolve to stop corruption as we look the other way makes me think we are sadly mistaken.
Report: Israel hits Beirut airport

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Officials have closed Beirut International Airport after Israeli warplanes struck runways in the Lebanese capital's Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs, The Associated Press reported

"The detention of Hamas parliamentarians in the early hours of Thursday morning had been planned several weeks ago and received approval from Mazuz on Wednesday. "

-Thats strange I thought it was because Hamas kidnapped an Israeli soldier. scratch..scratch...scratch.... Im confused!
A Clean Break:A New Strategy for Securing the Realm

Following is a report prepared by The Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies’ "Study Group on a New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000." The main substantive ideas in this paper emerge from a discussion in which prominent opinion makers, including Richard Perle, James Colbert, Charles Fairbanks, Jr., Douglas Feith, Robert Loewenberg, David Wurmser, and Meyrav Wurmser participated. The report, entitled "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm," is the framework for a series of follow-up reports on strategy.

-Work closely with Turkey and Jordan to contain, destabilize, and roll-back some of its most dangerous threats. This implies clean break from the slogan, "comprehensive peace" to a traditional concept of strategy based on balance of power.
-Change the nature of its relations with the Palestinians, including upholding the right of hot pursuit for self defense into all Palestinian areas and nurturing alternatives to Arafat’s exclusive grip on Palestinian society.
-Forge a new basis for relations with the United States—stressing self-reliance, maturity, strategic cooperation on areas of mutual concern, and furthering values inherent to the West. This can only be done if Israel takes serious steps to terminate aid, which prevents economic reform.

-Striking Syria’s drug-money and counterfeiting infrastructure in Lebanon, all of which focuses on Razi Qanan.
-Paralleling Syria’s behavior by establishing the precedent that Syrian territory is not immune to attacks emanating from Lebanon by Israeli proxy forces.
-Striking Syrian military targets in Lebanon, and should that prove insufficient, striking at select targets in Syria proper.

-Please not the obvious Neo-Con War Hawks who authored this report! A lot of the same assholes who got us stuck in the Iraq debacle. This "think-tank" created this long ago...I guess the time wasn't right to implement the strategy until now. So when Israel suggests they are only invading Lebannon because their troops were abducted think agian!! Probably another false flag operation that Israel is all too familiar with.

The Rendition Of Christ

Jesus Christ returns to Earth as he was portrayed in the Gospels at the height of his ministry. Geographically, his manifestation occurs in a blighted urban core in a large American city. Despite his humanity, he is endowed with omniscience and omnipotence. But he will not use them to change the course of humankind. He is here to act as a mortal agent of change.

Shaking off the initial shock, he succumbs to a wave of uncontrollable nausea. Thoughts of institutionalized racism, the wealth chasm, and the military industrial complex evoke a burst of primal and toxic hatred. He retches violently.

Palestinian injuries suggest Israel is using chemical weapons in Gaza

Palestinians carry the body of Khaled Abdel Kareem, one and a half years, during his funeral in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah July 11, 2006. Khaled was badly wounded in an Israeli air strike three weeks ago and was sent to Israel for treatment where he died of his wounds (MaanImages/Hatem Omar)

The ministry called upon the international community and the humanitarian organizations to send an international medical community to examine the victims and confirm the truth about these banned weapons that Israel appears to be using.

What good is the international community when every time Israel commits atrocities the US veto's any UN statement condemning it?

Ethanol Or Hydrogen Fuel?

I think the time has come to clear some things up between the two possible fuel options of the future. Let us start with the truth about Ethanol and what is required to produce it:

Green Fuel's Dirty Secret

Now of course if you decide to go with Hydrogen instead you better not plan any canoeing trips in the near future.

The next link is to Dr. Eugene Mallove's "Open Letter" ( published a day before he was murdered)

TO ALL PEOPLE OF THE WORLD

who have open-minded curiosity, good will, good judgment, and imagination. To Scientists and Engineers, Philanthropists, Environmentalists, Energy Developers, High Technology Investors, Healthcare Professionals, Journalists, Artists, Writers, Business People, Entertainers, and Political Leaders. Whether you are Conservative, Liberal, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Anarchist, and whether you may be Agnostic, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Atheist, or some other category of spirituality, this message is directed to all people of good will like you...

Of course there is no way to prove Dr. Mallove was murdered over his Cold Fusion, look at the facts surrounding the case and draw your own conclusion. In addition I will leave you with this story:

Water Fuel Experimenter and Team Threatened

Ken Rasmussen's research team has been working on a process that turns out to have similarities to the super-efficient electrolysis process being developed by Professor Kanarev. Rasmussen's work ceased after a member of the team was threatened at gunpoint.

If we don’t wake up soon and protect the people trying to protect our planet then our complicity makes us just as guilty as the man holding the gun.

Sprites & Elves

In the time span of only a few years since their "discovery", sprites have become one of the most hotly researched phenomena in upper atmospheric physics. The characteristics of sprites have been documented by researchers from different parts of the world. However, in spite of the attention that sprites have received, no theory yet exists which satisfactorily explains their initiation and development.

ElBaradei: Iran not an immediate nuclear threat

"Our assessment is that there is no immediate threat," the winner of the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize told a forum organized by the Monterey Institute of International Studies south of San Francisco. "We still have lots of time to investigate."
"You look around in the Middle East right now and it's a total mess," he said. "You can not add oil to that fire."

I present this article as proof that the international community doe's not wish to engage in a war with Iran prematurely, contrary to Neo-Con beleif. So in the near future when Bush starts spewing his rhetoric we will know better.
Pedophiles to launch political party

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Dutch pedophiles are launching a political party to push for a cut in the legal age for sexual relations to 12 from 16 and the legalization of child pornography and sex with animals, sparking widespread outrage.

Ok, now I have heard everything. Legalizing sex with animals?? 12?? I mean I heard the expression: " If there is grass in the field then play ball" but 12? 12? I mean come on, I hope these guys (girls, ducks, hippo, dogs, whatever) do not expect to be taken seriously.

Scientists ponder invisibility cloak

The keys are special manmade materials, unlike any in nature or the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. These materials are intended to steer light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation around an object, rendering it as invisible as something tucked into a hole in space.

This has already been done silly:

The U.S. Govt’s Secret Colorado Oil Discovery

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world — more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. Three companies have been chosen to lead the way. Test drilling has already begun…

Does this mean we can stop bombing the hell out of every nation with oil? - Probably not...

Bush 'planted fake news stories on American TV'

Federal authorities are actively investigating dozens of American television stations for broadcasting items produced by the Bush administration and major corporations, and passing them off as normal news. Some of the fake news segments talked up success in the war in Iraq, or promoted the companies' products.

At one time we only has to deal with the spoon-feeding of propaganda, now however it's more like force feeding. "Thank you Bush. Thank you USA."

The Moon And Its Rilles

Interesting read
The children of Guantanamo Bay

The notorious US detention camp in Guantanamo Bay has been hit by fresh allegations of human rights abuses, with claims that dozens of children were sent there - some as young as 14 years old.

British officials last night told the IoS that the UK had been assured that any juveniles would be held in a special facility for child detainees at Guantanamo called Camp Iguana. But the US admits only three inmates were ever treated as children - three young Afghans, one aged 13, who were released in 2004 after a furore over their detention

Hold on a second while I put on my surprised face ....... :) .... no that's not it ..... :( ..... still not getting it ...... ; ...... well I almost had it.
Plead for aid-Indonesia

BANTUL, Indonesia - Tens of thousands camped out for a second night Sunday in streets, cassava fields and the paths between rice paddies as the death toll from Indonesia's earthquake topped 4,300.

With everything happening in this area recently such as the terrible tsunami, Mt. Merapi, and this recent earthquake and it's devastating consequences I fear for the safety of them all. It is starting to have a very ominous effect on me.
U.S. is world leader in avoiding human rights accountability

Washington, DC, 26 May (Asiantribune.com): Governments worldwide, in the name of fighting terror, are committing gross violations of human rights: mistreating suspects, harming civilians and undermining their ability to solve some of the world’s most urgent problems, says U.S. Chapter of Amnesty International in its annual report released here May 23 highlighting the U.S. government’s current system for outsourcing key military detention and intelligence operations as fueling serious human rights violations and undermining accountability.

Amnesty International places responsibility jointly on the Bush administration and companies to overhaul the contracting system from top to bottom to ensure safety of suspects and civilians and investigation and prosecution when rights are violated.

Nothing better then being the leader in state sponsored terrorism ....... err .... I mean promoting democracy ...... yeah that's it.
Pope questions God?

OSWIECIM, Poland (Reuters) - Calling himself "a son of Germany,"
Pope Benedict' prayed at the former Nazi death camp of Auschwitz on Sunday and asked why God was silent when 1.5 million victims, mostly Jews, died in this "valley of darkness."

Probably the same reason the Catholic Church remained silent as long as they did with child molesting clergymen ......... Sheer embarrassment.
Haditha Massacre

LA Times: Photographs taken by a Marine intelligence team have convinced investigators that a Marine unit killed as many as 24 unarmed Iraqis, some of them "execution-style," in the insurgent stronghold of Haditha after a roadside bomb killed an American in November, officials close to the investigation said Friday.

Winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people as our American troops loose their own. Although there is no justification for the atrocities committed, one must pause to see that our troops are stuck in a war built on lies with no clear exit. And the only thought swimming in their minds is will I ever make it home.
